If advertising is the only income, where does it come in here

At the beginng of the videos?
The videos on youtube contain adverts which pay a very small amount amount per view. So if your video has advertising and it is viewed 100 times it doesn't add up to anything much. But if your video has 10 million views then you're talking tens of thousands of dollars.... all from a single video.
Their channel has many videos, so they are accumulating views across multiple videos and hence making a decent amount of money from it. They split the profits with the person who submits the video to them - in some cases that has resulted in the original owner of the video making quite a lot of money themselves... so you can imagine how much LS are raking in.
I once got in touch with them to find out about their 'video partner' program, because as far as I was aware if you're making money from video taken in SP parks then you need a license (see section 6.2 of their policy here:
http://www.sanparks.org/docs/general/fi ... policy.pdf ). They replied as follows:
We will only publish videos that our contributors have the full license for. So if you needed a permit while filming and you didn't get one, we will probably not be able to upload the video.
I personally can't believe many/any of their contributors have/had a license so I think they are probably sweeping that all under the carpet whilst making a lot of money in the process

Yes, no ways anyone gets a license unless they are doing a full-on feature professionally, then rangers look after them, for example. It is a stupid arbitrary rule anyway, and is discussed somewhere...

The attack on Nadav is pretty pathetic from Sanparks. They have provided no evidence to prove that he was supposedly speeding. Have chosen to name & shame him with no hearing to ascertain the facts.
Not seen them naming & shaming their own people & contractors for their speeding offences.
All goes back to their pr game, much easier to blame the ls app then actually sorting out their lack of traffic control.

Very true Stefan
They like to blame others for their own problems and struggle to sort the real problems

I see another post SANPARKS with claims about Latest sightings being done illegally on twitter .They do seem to be after him.
Kruger National Park

Please note: SANParks discourages visitors from doing anything illegal just for their videos to be posted/gain views and following.

Classy. Going after a 15 year-old now, effectively, back in the year he was made Honorary Ranger.
Meanwhile, in unrelated news, SANParks lifted the suspensions of four of their own who are currently on trial for killing rhinos. This forced the magistrate to grant them bail and they are now back at work. SANParks strongly discourages staff from killing rhinos just to gain money, as it is illegal in Kruger park, according to the rules and regulations.
BTW, I wonder if it is SP's head of social media who trawled up this old video?
