This family is characterized by the absence of a fastigial furrow in the head, complete lack of wings and the absence of an abdominal tympanum. The body form can be quite variable, from robust and stout to elongated, and some species can be colorful. Lentulids are restricted to south of the Sahara in Africa, with most of the diversity in South Africa.

This one is probably a Paralentula species.
