The water level has demished (is that the correct word). In need of rain \O

There were very few birds around and I find myself photographing what I can.. O:V

I was watching a car stationary on the entrance road and decided to move up that way.

Great photos of the Snake-eagle Amoli. \O

Those buffs were too close for my lens as well. Great to see them though. O/\

Whilst travelling around the reserve with Amoli, we also saw lots of African Stonechats.

Female on grass stem.

Northern Black Korhaans were calling by the roadside.
Image

And a lifer for both of us - a pair of Orange River Francolins.

"Diminished"' Amoli! \O

begin nest building up to 6 months beforehand. Apart from flight displays, they also display on the nest together as they start the nest building by trampling a flat area in the crown of a bush or small tree.

Secretary birds are the world's only terrestrial eagles...and apparently really suck at nest-building...sort of like amphibians having to go back to water to breed! =O:

I wonder where those buffalo come from...all sorts of breeding of disease-free buffs going on all over SA over the last decade, including some Kruger ones, which provide the better horns compared to Addo, which used to be the only local supplier! :-?

Nice pics, all! \O
