And also, as shown in RobT's post from the other side, it's not permitted to make a profit from selling accommodation on! :X:

Got some more info: tented adventures book 8 sites every year, paying in full. This is around R1 million. That is the end of the story as far as SP can go. Outlook Safaris also has a permanent tent, with more tents in Skukuza. Other operators are not able to do this, for some reason.

They use SP vehicles for night drives, like everyone else.

Are the drives included in the prices that we have seen? Do they rent a night drive at the current price and then they make the guests pay whatever they feel like?

There are lots of questions to pose and very little answers. We have no way to judge the whole thing, because as usual there is no transparency 0*\

Night drives are extra.

What is included then? It must be a lot in order to explain the high price -O-

My understanding of that post is that if you wish to use the facility created by the accommodation exchange thread on the SP forums you need to comply with this rule. I am not aware of any restriction in SP's rules which prohibit the making of a profit on providing accommodation to guests as part of a business.

Do not get me wrong - I agree that rules should be transparently set to regulate this type of activity as it can easily get out of hand and impact on the normal visitor's enjoyment of the park. It does seem that special arrangements are being made with this operator which are not transparent or in terms of the rules - specifically if they are booking further in advance than is normally allowed or if they have opportunity to book before the public opening of bookings.

So at the end of the day it all boils down to money/corruption, can smell the stench from here.

Well perhaps we should just arrange several tonnes of sawdust for the next fund raising cricket match, as they have the tents, the animals and the clowns ^0^
