Lower Sabie

We got back onto the H4-2 and didn't see much until a couple of km's before the S28 northern entrance....lions at last!! O:V

We counted 7 at first but more kept coming from deeper in the bush until there were 13 all crammed into the shade of one small tree. lol

Watching us! ;-)

Darn leaves! :O^

After sitting with them for quite long we decided it was time to head back to camp. Just before camp I spotted a Saddle-bill Stork in the riverbed and asked my dad to pull over. There was another vehicle stopped there, so we told them about the lions and they revealed there was a LIT about 8kms past Lower Sabie! O:V Of course, we forgot about camp and went in search of our first leopard! O\/ It wasn't hard to find the spot as there were a few vehicles there, but it was not so easy to find the best spot from which to view the leopard. The tree was right next to the road but very leafy...darn leaves again! O**

I battled to get any good pics as I was on the wrong side and had to look through the windscreen or crane my neck to look out the driver's side window. 0*\

This is what I could see on my side! lol

While watching the leopard a huge kettle of vultures took off from the riverbed to catch some thermals. I have never seen so many vultures together at one time!!

The Brat wanted to stay until the leopard came down, but the loos at Lower Sabie were calling. O**

Well, at least there was something to see for you as well, Flutts O**

The H4-2 certainly delivered as hoped for, hey? But you're being a bit voracious with the lions and the leopard in one go lol

Very successful so far! ^Q^
