The following gives an overview of visitors per park. The figures are not recent but there was no major changes to these

Finally got some inside info on day visitors at gates in the South:
I see you got some interesting reaction to the posting on Africa Wild forum. It has come to light in the past days 600 cars per gate is cutoff, however on busy days up to 970 cars are being let through. This excludes overnight guests, delivery vehicles and those already in the park. 370 over cut off. 9 gates and all of a sudden we sitting at 3000 plus cars, average of 2 persons per car RSA citizens that's almost a revenue boost of R420k (picture even prettier if its international. Now we ask ourselves why we have sightings overcrowded and unhappy campers! There has been no attempt in the past 20yrs to increase road infrastructure or even facility infrastructure, hence overcrowding at amenities and sightings.

Here are vehicle occupancy numbers from 2011 and 2012 from Sanparks own documents, makes picture even rosier for them and worse for the overcrowding of facilities.

And those numbers are 4 years old, imagine now
I do not know why they are counting the occupancy per vehicle
Over crowding comes with too many cars, not too many persons. Of course if you are more interested in the gain than in the over crowding, then it is logical to count the persons

Gate quota's are in people and not vehicles. The facilities, bathrooms, restaurants would work on people and the daily conservation fee is worked on people.
If they are letting in 600 vehicles at these numbers it means more than double and sometimes triple and quadruple gate quota numbers coming in. Kruger gate occupancies will be less as I think it is a working gate so a lot more deliveries etc coming in there.
