Hi everybody 0/*
It has been quite a while since I had posted something here. I just wanted to give you an update about where I am studying. I took some photos that I also want to share with you.

These last couple of days were amazing.

This is Gaia the baby serval. We took her for a walk and she discovered that she liked to climb trees...

Image

This is Cheecky

Image

This is Apollo the serval that is tamed. He is very playful at times and sometimes we also take him for walks.

Image

This is Panzy the caracal. I took this pic when he was yawning

Image

This is Sierra and Sahara (they are sisters)

Image

This is Lex. She is bigger than the other two.

Image

The two sisters again

Image

Lex and one of the sisters

Image

This was when Lex was yawning. I really laughed when I saw how the pic came out

Image

One of the sisters yawning

Image

This was today when the more qualified people played with them

Image

Image

Image

This was Porky and me. He wanted to join us on our 15 minute break.

Image

We were given the chance to interact with the big lions again

Image

The two sisters were eating here

Image

This is Apollo again. I had to clean his enclosure by taking out the spider webs with a feather duster. He thought that it was something to play with so he tried to catch it the whole time. Eventually he caught it and then I had to struggle to get it away from him again (it was really hard because I couldn't stop laughing =O: ) but eventually I got the feather duster away and it had a lot of feathers missing... -O O**

Image

Enjoy.

Thanks everyone.

I know I haven't been posting a lot these past few weeks but I have been busy. I will try to get all my pictures in order this weekend so that I can post the last few pictures of my time at the Wildlife Centre. My course there was only 6 weeks long. I have already started with my next course which is Accommodation. I will tell you more about it later on.

Great stuff Bookworm. \O \O

I love it to see young people doing what they really want to do. ^Q^ ^Q^

Took me some time to catch up on this thread, but the read is worthwhile.

I see you have had some adventures that I have had too. O\/ O\/

These photos are some of the last few pictures I took when I was at the Wildlife Centre. It was the last few days of our course there.

This is one of the little mongooses that we had to help take care of

Image

This is Dolfie the barn owl (I think)

Image

Elvin the squirrel

Image

Image

I am not sure what this bird is called in English but it is called a "Pappegaai duif" in Afrikaans

Image

We had to dig for earthworms for the hadida that was injured. It was fun to play in the mud O\/

Image

Image

We had to dump some old leaves and so on the compost heaps

Image

This is a spider that we found while we cleaned one of the enclosures. If someone can please give me an ID on it, I will be grateful. I saw this spider on a previous occasion but I still don't know what type of spider it is. As you can see it is shiny, that is because it is a silver spider.

Image

This is a few of us after we cleaned a boma properly. It was very dirty and the smell was unbearable then my friend said: "this is inhuman!". After that we laughed because obviously an animal is not human =O:

Image

This is Gaia the serval. She is the youngest serval there.

Image

We had to clean an outside boma and we had to take out all of those plants that I am holding in my hands. This took us almost the whole day.

Image

Apollo enjoyed the attention and eventually he climbed on my lap and purred like a cat. I really enjoyed that.

Image

This is Kuifie. She is tamed. She flies around outside at day and at night we put her back in the aviary. She liked to follow us when we walked around and when we were busy with work.

Image

On our last day we got a surprize. Two of the giraffes that the Wildlife Centre raised last year came to visit us, Makadi and Peanut.

Image

Image

This was really a great experience and I already miss those animals that we worked with. Hope you enjoy the photos. (Sorry about the photo quality, it was taken with my phone)
