Here's one out of six (that is only the puppies...) in the Batulama / Gemsbok area. They were right next to the road but the dry grass was still obscuring a good view for the camera
Plus, right behind the verge the terrain descended, so more often than not the playing pups were partly hidden in the dip... We only saw them once. I suppose they must have moved due to the traffic


Unfortunately I had to take the photos right into the sun, but we didn't want to upset them by moving the car into a better position.
And the ever so patient mother.


One really must have respect for Cape fox mothers... They bear any antics of their youngsters while dad more often than not is gone elsewhere.
Out of the 7 different litters we saw, dad was close to the family in 2 cases. One was seen in the distance and another one fled the scene once
the babies came out
