A couple of weeks ago , I put up an owl-box in a tree behind the house , when one of the workers suddenly exclaimed , " hey , look at the owl ;-) "

And there he was sitting , less than 10 meters away , watching us , watching , watching . And after another half-hour or so , he flew off .

Now , maybe he will come back , bringing his wife with him O/\ We'll see :-)

There has been a pair of eagle owls around here for a long time , but I have not yet found their nesting site . This is why I put up an owl-box in the hope they will move in next breeding season , which is around August to October :-)

And , in the meantime , I keep an eye on the bird feeder , and see a couple of new-comers :
The grey headed sparrow is a new one for me here on the farm , and have never seen one so far west , with Worcester area basically right on the western extremity of its normal distribution .

And another new one on the feeder table is this Southern Boubou - easily confused at a distance with Common Fiscal , and also with a Fiscal flycatcher , both of which are very active on here outside the house :-) .
