Shelduck in Kgalagadi 0*\ 0*\ That must be quite a rare sighting and I wonder where they go when the
water dries out :-? :-?

Thanks for the extra sandy faced meerkat O/\ O/\

Beautiful tawny and great BEF sighting \O \O
I can only presume that the Shelducks get in their 4x4 and trek off to pastures wetter O** O** =O:

I thought the sandy Meerkat was too cute not to post a close-up!

Thanks Pooky \O

I was a tree nymph at school  .... my house was called Dryads! -O
Isn't it time you went there? The pictures do not do it justice!

And I'll bet you were a wonderful tree nymph!

I wonder what RP was when he was a schoolboon, a gremlin perhaps?

I must admit that reliving my trip through this travel tale has given me a hankering to go back sooner than I anticipated. But I must get my 2 week Kruger fix first so it looks like 2015 maybe? -O-

Day 11, Thursday June 13, Twee Rivieren. Morning drive continued....

A juvenile Martial Eagle who seemed to be having balance problems

Some Brindled Gnu portraits.
Image
Image

Distant Suricates who were too cold to do anything but stand in the sun.
Image

Whitebacked Vulture.
Image
Image

A Lanner Falcon in the road.
Image

Just before the picnic spot there's a salt-lick which was being visited by an Oryx.
Image

There were plenty of Springboks in the area
Image

Some were getting frisky
Image

And these two were kicking up a dust storm

And then, (insert suitable expletive here), my SD card was full :-( and by the time I managed to load a new one they'd settled their differences.

Here's the alpha ram looking pleased with himself

To be continued.....
