On the Beelds website Johannesburg – 'n Groep mans is uit die Kruger Nasionale Park gegooi omdat hulle dronk was, het die park Maandag bekendgemaak.

William Mabasa, 'n woordvoerder, het gesê vier mans wat in 'n minibus gery het, het Sondag by die park se Phalaborwa-hek in Limpopo aangekom.

"Hulle het aan sekuriteitsbeamptes gesê dat hulle 'n werknemer wil besoek wat in een van die park se dorpe woon," het hy gesê.

Mabasa sê die mans is toegelaat om die park gratis binne te gaan, maar die wagte het later vasgestel dat hulle nie na die dorp gery het waar die werknemers woon nie.

"Die mans is in die park gevind en terug na die hek gebring, waar hulle aangesê is om die toegangsgeld te betaal," het Mabasa gesê.

Nadat hulle die toegangsgeld betaal het, het die wagte besef die besoekers is nie nugter nie en het hulle gevra om die park te verlaat.

"Ons kon nie die mans se geld aan hulle teruggee nie omdat hulle moes betaal vir die tyd wat hulle in die park deurgebring het," het Mabasa gesê.

Nobody has asked them to put names, but at least tell the true story and the true numbers. If they had told the true story we would all have applauded them, but now we all find them miserable. Is it possible that the story has not been referred correctly to Mr. Mabasa? Because it just sounds too naive to think, that the truth will not be told

I don't know what Mabasa has been told, but I will personally email him with the facts this evening. I don't want any form of recognition for my actions yesterday, all I want is that SANParks accept the truth and bring out a media release on what actually took place.

Is there anyone that can copy the Beeld's article and paste it on the SPF? I think a new thread should be started there with the true account of what happened so that their members can see for themselves what happened. I don't want to register there under a new name to do this, and it would be deleted anyway as I am banned there.

Why the lies. There is a couple of possibilities

1) Dont want to tell the truth because they will have to acknowledge good work done by an AW member

2) The press release was done on hearsay - which just then reeks of incompetence, because every person in a high profile job like that knows the pitfalls for giving the press the wrong info, hell even I know!!! Get your facts!! Or they plain just do not see this as serious, and as such just put out something to "keep the vultures" at bay.

3) A combination of the above
