Unusual pics there!

Dunno? Bateleur are often the first at the scene of a crime, so to speak...maybe they watch each other and come to investigate? :-?

On our way out we stopped on the bridge to watch some birds :

The birds were scrabbling in the mud

Suddenly a juvenile Fish eagle swooped down and stole the catfish.

He flew up to a tree branch to enjoy his stolen feast

But it did not last long , an adult Fisheagle swooped down and took it away and flew off.

We stopped at the gate and pre-booked for New years day entrance ....

Yes it was clear the drought was taking effect all the grazing around the water points was gone .

Thanks would have liked to use a 400mm lense but pics came out fairly well.
