As long as the black sheep of those who are meant to protect the rhinos are doing their best

Mbombela - A rhino poaching case against three former SA National Parks (SANParks) employees and two traffic officials could not be heard on Monday because one of the defence lawyers was unavailable.
The SANParks employees, Tiyani Mabunda, 25, and former field guides Charles Mabunda, 29, and Duncan Mnisi, 34, appeared alongside provincial traffic officer Ellaraine Jennifer Brown, 28, and former traffic official Doctor Ngwenyama, 33, in the Nelspruit Regional Court.
Magistrate Andre Geldenhuys said defence lawyer Erwin Sithole was attending another matter in the High Court in Pretoria.
Ngwenyama, Mnisi, and the two Mabundas were arrested in February 2012 following the discovery of two white rhino carcasses in the Pretoriuskop section of the Kruger National Park.
Brown, who is married to Ngwenyama, was arrested in May 2012
after she was suspected of having transported a rhino horn out of the park.
The accused have not been asked to plead to charges of rhino poaching and are out on R20 000 bail each.
Geldenhuys postponed the trial to October 16 and 17.

I wonder if anyone has any idea about what happens in
our courtrooms at the best of times!!!!
Just a brief example, for it is a bottomless pit of inadequasy,
conveniently so,....
Law enforcement and the justice system not at the same level
of responsibility,...two worlds apart,.,...
Now we need to take other departments into account, long before
this stage begins,... OMW,.....We have become so democratic that
we lost handles of ethics in life,....hah,...
What a wonderful waste of time, creating psuedo welfare!!!

Mpuma cops held with poacher

Johannesburg - Two police constables have been arrested for allegedly transporting a suspected rhino poacher in a marked police vehicle at the Kruger National Park, the Hawks said on Wednesday.
"The suspects were tasked with the responsibility to patrol the roads around the park and to confront suspicious vehicles," said Mpumalanga Hawks head Major General Simon Mapyane.
"It is clear that these members were doing the opposite."
Patrolling park rangers and the Hawks endangered species team came across a black rhino carcass in the park on Tuesday.
They stopped a marked Skukuza police van patrolling the park after a tip-off, Mapyane said.
"A person suspected of being a poacher, who was armed with a 375 hunting rifle and rounds of ammunition, was inside the vehicle," said Mapyane.
The constables could not explain why the armed man was in the vehicle, he said. They face charges of corruption. The suspected poacher had been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The three are expected to appear soon in the Skukuza Magistrate's Court.

SP's Internal Investigations staff have been working themselves to death over the last number of years. Unfortunately that encompasses normal corruption/meat poaching as well as internal rhino poaching. It would be great if the office could be split so new members can concentrate on rhino poaching under a separate office?
This internal staff stuff is now becoming an open secret....no matter how much Mozambique is blamed, they do not act alone, in many instances, regarding daily cellphone information from Kruger staff/service providers, IMO.
The internal stuff must be sorted first, otherwise morale will drop!
