That PCG got quite close to the cobra. What happened next?
Did it try to attack or was it just waiting for a food delivery by the snake?

Honey badger - how very O:V (Glad, all smileys are green here anyway,
otherwise the colour of my face would betray me =O: )

Was quite exciting because it was the first thing we ever saw at Marie -
apart from those jackals and oryx, that is. :-0

A mad oryx came charging out of the dunes and made sure the kudus left his area. 0-

sorry about the cobra/PCG confusion :o0ps:

I was there and to me it was obvious 0*\

We saw the PCG on the ground and stopped hoping for a honey badger somewhere around. In this case it was not a honey badger but a snake which inspected all the holes. The PCG was waiting patiently for a snack but was not successful. Finally the cobra disappeard into one of the holes and left the disappointed PCG alone. No harm done to the snake.

Hm, sometimes the PCG hunt with the cobras waiting for prey missed by the snake and sometimes they prey on snakes. Do they only take mole snakes or could it be a Cobra, too -O-

I have read about a PCG taking a Cape cobra, but I'm not sure that it was a grown snake.
I rather assume it must have been a young one as the adult version might prove to be too dangerous for a goshawk. :-?
Presumably, it's more common for the PCG to use the snake as a 'partner' in hunting, meaning the PCG will snatch
the prey the cobra flushed out from somewhere.
