If Sanparks simply provided people with a flow of information there would be no need to speculate O/

It would be nice to have some idea of how long this is going to take for route planning in that area. There was also talk of building more overnight hides so perhaps they are going to use this opportunity to make a change?

There is a post on the Honorary Rangers FB page on 16 August with pictures

https://www.facebook.com/pg/SANParksHon ... ers/posts/

"A group of six members from Lowveld region of the SANParks Honorary Rangers recently worked near Lower Sabie at Nthandanyathi bird hide in Kruger National Park. Thatching that was damaged when a large tree fell on the roof of the structure was removed.

The team also removed the debris and old grass from the site to assist speed up the process of restoring the hide and facilitate getting it back into use soon."

What on earth is going on?

Maintenance is so lethargic I think they only realised something had to be done once the public became involved... :O^

Agreed, but what puzzles me is that from the HR post work was being done "to assist speed up the process of restoring the hide and facilitate getting it back into use soon".

A week later it has been "demolished in preparation for it to be completely rebuilt". Highly unlikely it will be operational for many months.

 I had exactly the same feeling as you .The HR post seemed to indicate they had removed the that roof in preperation for repair then suddenly the whole hide is gone

After reading about the rebuilding of the Ntandanyathi Bird Hide on S28, I jumped into the car to have another look. As can be seen, nothing happening
