If you look carefully you can see a bird's head on the right!
It was a first for me, I think, coqui francolin!
Lovely colours!
a breeding pair? they were slightly different?

A bit later we were at our destination, Nwaswitshaka Waterhole.
There are actually two waterholes, with a dam/quarry on one side:
Always terrapins there, quite a swarm, doing ballet apparently!

Also the obligatory pair of Gyppo Geese!
But it quickly got boring there, so one shifts back to see what is at the other spot....aha!

I have had some nice elephant sightings there
Nice sighting of the francolins
The female is the one with the marks on the face, not the contrary, as you might have thought
Terrapins dancing Looks more like they are trying to make a heap

Also love the frankolins, Richprins,
as well as the terrapins - Simply love the S65 but it is often closed when we are in the park in February

Then back straight to the tar road, down the S65!
It infuriates me endlessly how the roadside verges are left untrimmed in the New Kruger, it is difficult to see oncoming traffic in places!
And back at camp some brunch...and the obligatory sitting half-asleep on the stoep...with visitors arriving occasionally! This is a Kurrichane thrush...

And a small mongoose:
And again, as the sun begins to set, a walk down to the pool ablution block! It is very private there for ablutions!
This spider trying to look like a dropping or something?
