We went for a quick look at Balule camp, and emergency toilet break as it was an emergency!
I haven't been there for ages and was VERY impressed at how clean and neat everything is, a big
. The lawns are faultless and it shows you what can be done with a bit of pride...
Back to the bridge...I never knew one could see the big bridge from the little bridge?
Frew: "What emergenc..."
RP: "SILENCE!"
The water was nice and clean!
Quite the oasis in the desert!

And there we had some tea, very idyllic...and meandered further again. As said, meandering aimlessly is the loveliest thing one can do!
The thing about meandering is one may see something strange, and not register what on earth it is!
Mam: "What the..."
Frew: "What is that??"
RP: "A melanistic giant honey badger! I last saw one near Makonkolwenimaduba in the 1990s!
"
Mam: "Are you sure, Your Grace?"
RP: "Certainly. They are very rare and SANParks reintroduced them into this area from Addis Ababa Nature Reserve.
"
Frew: "I think it may just be a muddy hyena?"
RP: "SILENCE!"
RP: "Actually I think it is a muddy hyena, you know. Must be a carcass down at the river.
"
Mam: "Oh, your Grace!
"
Frew: "

RP: "

And a bit further this fellow!

I saw my first ever Sharpe's Grysbok near Olifants, so this was very nice!
The other trouble with meandering aimlessly is that one can lose track of time a bit, especially when the sun viciously comes out at midday, and one has a whole hoard of tea to finish...
We went past the camp, as it was too early for drunch, and headed off down the S44, as that was an option...and who cared, and what the hell!
Frew: "What is this side road? There is no no entry sign?"
Mam: "What ish a nono entry shign? Whahahaaaa!"
RP: "Heeeheeheheheee!"
We took the road and ended up in a quarry...
Frewells almost got stuck, and it was very bumpy...
Anyway, it was fun in the back, with aircon!
Homework: What would the product of this quarry be used for?

Lovely view from the low bridge. It must be even better in summer
The grysbok is really tiny and very cute
The product from the quarry: Repair of the roads

Grand views of the river!
But how do you know that is was nice and clean? Drank it? Bathed it?

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

I've also never noticed that you can see the high level bridge from the Balule one.
