A great lion sighting to start your day and very lucky to not have a major traffic jam. O:V Excellent pics of the lion also. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

The giraffe on the second day looks quite well adapted, amazing how quick they learn \O
Thanks for the ID Klipspringer \O
Lisbeth wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2019 2:04 pm Nice to see the small giraffe much more secure on the long legs \O

Nice coucal O/\
Yes, the giraffe was properly trotting along the next day... and the adults had given up chasing it as well lol

It was something a bit different! We didn't stick around to see how it ended but I kind of think it would probably have been funny to watch \O

Ai we had a thread on it somewhere in the old days! ..0..

It doesn't have to be so swollen up all the time! lol

Lovely to see the giraffe survive, I suspect it is a a nightmare for the parents on the first night! O-/
Aha! Strange creatures indeed

Lovely to see the baby giraffe again O:V
Thanks Mel... He/She would be a fine catch I'm sure ;-)

Fri 29th June contd

Not too far along the S28 our lion timing turned out to be impeccable again as this young chap hopped onto the road in front of us O\/ O\/

It was another group of 3 lions, and by the looks of things a similar family setup to our previous sighting with a mom lioness and 2 almost full grown youngsters (boy & girl)... the mom appeared to have lost an eye

Image

The girls weren't being very cooperative and wandered along behind some bushes, but the boy turned out to be another poser O:V

The younger lioness eventually came out to say hi to us \O

They carried on next to us for a little while before disappearing off deep into the bush

Impeccable timing, as you say.
