It was a lovely time we spent at Leeupan and always worth to stop there a bit longer

I always enjoy all your bird sightings - love the parrot especially!

The parots indeed were fantastic to photograph as they were so close and relaxed

And a brand new road to travel on!

I like the plated lizard, one only sees them in camps!

And Leeupan...

Indeed a few very few roads in Kruger had not yet been visited by us always great to finally drive on one

Love the different ducks together

They posed so nicely together and even in the sunlight

Love the Hamerkop sequence and the Roller .

We simply loved to watch the hamerkop with the tadpoles

Far away we noticed another brown snake eagle, however, closer we discovered a pale chating goshawk in a close by tree



but only noticed later whilst downloading the pictures that same was busy with a kill in its claws



in fact a really beautiful raptor which we do not see that often in Kruger



Now we turned already into the S36 where we met an elephant herd





and whilst crossing one of these many and beautiful causeways we noticed how high the water must have been only recently.





It was extreme quiet nearly the whole time also carwise but we suddenly detected a group of white-backed vultures in trees



as well as on the ground



obviously they enjoyed the sun there



and took a break in the trees.

It in fact stayed overall quiet but it is always worth to stop for another smaller elephant herd in the distance,



a couple of ground hornbills in a tree



as well as a beautiful flower on the roadside.



Ximanwaneni waterhole was full, however, as nothing could be discovered we continued after a short break there and a bit further down we noticed an impressive elephant bull



and a couple of sandbathing redbilled hornbills



which did indeed look extreme funny when doing that.



As already said it was also on the H7 quiet as well as at Girivana nothing paid a visit and so we already stood in front of Nsemani dam which we meanwhile had noticed with many different water levels and during one trip also without any water but this year the dam was full as we so far never saw same which was wonderful for the animals around but for birding not the best. At least besides the dam a group of waterbucks was hanging around





and as most of them were extreme relaxed we had fun in watching and photographing them



and some even were busy with a fight.





After a nice while we enjoyed the waterbucks we continued and stopped as well for a nice posing kudu bull.
