Always sad when a well known animal passes away.

That's why it's probably better not to name these wild animals.

Sylvester is fine RP - he’s in the Kuzuko concession so no interaction with the main game area lions.

There’s always debate around naming the lions, but even if they didn’t have names we would still know them so well it would still be sad

Sometimes it may help if an animal has a name? A long time ago when I was a regular at Orpen there was a local male with a ripped lip. We saw him quite a few times and I named him Hanglip. he was a bit naughty and I found him a few km outside the gate one day. I told the powers that be it was Hanglip, which confirmed he was the local etc. (I suppose I could just have said he was a the male with the torn lip, which could have worked just as well, but my story sounds more romantic! )

He came back by himself through a gap between the gate and the guardhouse that night anyway...

You're right PJL, doesn't matter if they have names or not, still sad.

I'm not entirely sure of the timeline for Aardlam's cubs… Are they fit to survive without her already?

But Aardlam gone means another Addo icon missing

AARDLAM Was 2 years old in 2003 so she led a good life and the last of the original lions to pass on /Leave the Park
