The black wildebeests are less black than the blue ones =O:

We saw them about 7:30am Lis. They are difficult to find at any time of the day lol
And yes, those black wildebeest have some colour issues 0*\

One gets the impression you guys are serious gamespotters...not very pro on my Dimwits trips for example... :o0ps: lol

Those foxies are very photogenic, and well done on a rare sighting as always! X#X

Alpheus open your eyes man! 0*\
Very professional trips we do RP ^0^ ^0^

But nevertheless - well spotted! And BEFs on top of it --> :-0 :-0 :-0 And they were actually pretty close too,
even if you used a bazooka lens and zoomed in. I only know them as a blurred spot somewhere far off in the
vastness of Mountain Zebra 0*\
Yep that badger was barely visible at all... but we did see it for a few seconds and it couldn't have been anything else \O
Bazooka lens??? Not guilty 0: 0:
The foxes were about 10m off the road ;-)

The rest of the Link Road and Ubejane was quiet, so I plotted our first 4x4 route of the trip heading up Umgeni which is the most testing of the 3 in the park. There wasn't much to be seen until we got higher up the trail where there was a mix of game hanging out

We also got a unique perspective on a Verreaux's Eagle as it cruised past at our height O/\ O/\

Image

We normally find the jackal in MZNP to be very skittish, but this one stopped just long enough for a pic before running away

Image

Umgeni ends up back on Rooiplaat so we ventured from there up on the Kranskop loop right over the hills at the back of the park before descending to the Wilgerboom valley. The lions have been seen up and down the valley quite regularly but we didn't see anything much as the day was now hotting up. Just near Doornhoek dam we came across a buffalo, whilst an eland was enjoying a drink at the dam O:V

The last stop-off for the morning was at Monkeyland where there were a few mountain zebra and more baboons hanging around. One had a baby clinging on whilst fast asleep \O

Not bad for Mountain Zebra, quite a few species and then, of course, the Verreaux's Eagle O/\ O/\

Do you mind posting a couple of scenery shots, please ;-)

We must have seen that same buff before. There was always a single one hanging around the dam.
And pretty aged too O**

Apart from the jackals, I also found the boons to be quite timid. We never had a really close encounter
with them and they would actually run off (Unheard of in the KNP  )

The Verreaux eagle is O:V O:V O:V
