This fly is not the standard coloration of the family.
And we have the abdomen only visible.
Thorax with stripes is standard.
Red eyes look rather large.
Ground colour?
Pattern (such as stripes etc)?
Red tail is not unusual but might help us to tell the species once we have the genus!
And consider that the KTP lovers do find the most weird things
and consider dry Kalahari habitat.

the Kgalagadi has the most beautiful critters
there is a second fly (the same fly ? I think so) at the left hand side... maybe the head and not the end (baboon like), but this one is not really focused
if it can help

You must read the "Abdomen" parts and check for orange/red last tergite and dark spots on the abdomen.

Thorax: Noir, avec tomentum argente et trois bandes medio-longitudinales noires et larges. Les stigmates antérieurs sont bruns; les stigmates postérieurs sont bruns oranges. Les pattes noires ont une teinte brune; tous les femurs sont poilus; les femurs medians ont un ctenidium typique
Abdomen: La couleur fondamentale est d'un brun clair et couverte d'un
tomentum argente ä nuances jaunâtres; il a trois rangs de taches dorsales qui touchent
la bordure postérieure des tergites II — IV et deux rangs de taches laterales qui toutes touchent la bordure antérieure des tergites, plus ou moins ovalaires et noires. La pilosité ventrale de l'abdomen est grande sur les tergites et sternites. La formule chetotaxique: + -(- 2 + série. Les tergites genital et anal sont rouges oranges; le premier n'a pas de macrochetes marginaux.
