This fly is not the standard coloration of the family.

And we have the abdomen only visible.

Thorax with stripes is standard.

Red eyes look rather large.

Ground colour?

Pattern (such as stripes etc)?

Red tail is not unusual but might help us to tell the species once we have the genus!

And consider that the KTP lovers do find the most weird things =O: and consider dry Kalahari habitat.

you are right lol the Kgalagadi has the most beautiful critters O/\

there is a second fly (the same fly ? I think so) at the left hand side... maybe the head and not the end (baboon like), but this one is not really focused ;-) -O-

You must read the "Abdomen" parts and check for orange/red last tergite and dark spots on the abdomen. lol
