Near Batulama a cheetah was relaxing under a tree on the far side of the riverbed

As was this lion near Gemsbokplein.

On the way back to camp, the cheetah decided to get up for a moment

And at 13th borehole a giraffe was quenching it’s thirst.

We also spotted this secretary bird on the way back

We go back to camp at about lunch time and I managed to get the puncture repaired without any problem. A thorn being the culprit.

While I was busy with that, Debbie spotted this fork tailed drongo in the camp.
I really like those birds.

Thanks everyone for all the comments and for bearing with me while I've been too busy to post over the last couple of days. :-)

Thursday 12 November 2020

We spent the early morning packing up our campsite as were moving down to Twee Rivieren for the final leg of our holiday.
While I was busy finishing up, Debbie spotted a Cardinal woodpecker on a nearby tree.
That meant I no longer had any help, but we did get a nice picture of it. :-(

Our drive down to Twee Rivieren provided nothing new.

The roads we as bad as before

The lilac breasted roller was still in it’s nest

The springbok were also out and about

And we were lucky enough to spot the foxes again, even though we were a bit late in getting there.

A snake eagle was perched in a tree looking quite angry as they do.

True to form, the cheetah we spotted near Batulama was on the far side of the riverbed yet again.
Social distancing. :-?

A juvenile PCG posed nicely for us a bit further on.

We got to Twee Rivieren and after booking in found a pleasant campsite up at the top in the un-electrified part of the campsite
The rest of the afternoon was spent pitching our tent for the last 3 nights of our holiday
