Joh...lots of Nyala indeed!
Looks a bit dry there, Toks...do red duiker normally drink during the day like that?
Thought the spoor was otter at first...
But one of the small cats then?

Re: Taking Tembe Kids on Safari with Thulani
I'm deeply impressed, Toks! How do you do it? I started reading the November Posts going into February without noticing that there was a three months' gap... Other than thinking that I had seen parts of it before. I was also impressed by your story telling. Very sophisticated and captivating. Interesting info on the spoors and the behaviour. And then all those nyala - just wonderful! They are such beautiful antelopes.
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Thanks SO much for sharing all these interesting tidbits from so many areas of interest - animals, spoor, plants, etc etc. You are really a fountain of knowledge and "we" are lucky you have crossed paths with each of us on AW.

This red duiker used to be around there several times and red duikers drink from the pans! That's when they fall prey to lions or wild dogs
The spoor is from a Genet"cat"

Mahlasela pan is the pan close to the camp and in winter the prime spot to watch elephant bulls - here we go!
Some nyalas around there
The Harrier-Hawk also sticks around and does his rounds

The water outlet on the left side has some toys now and the younger bulls love to push and rub their belly on the rocks
