Cool portrait of the hornbill \O

I also like the hyena sighting and the close up and the one where it walks into the sunrise are the bestest shot ^Q^

Love the bushbuck reception, Peej! \O

Ja, the s28 can be incredible, or empty... 0:
Thanks RP - that bushbuck was around quite a lot whenever we pulled in to the camp \O
Alf wrote: Tue Jul 30, 2019 2:13 pm Also not much luck for us on the S28 throughout the years
I guess if you get a 'hit' on the S28 it probably remains a favourite for years... but so far it has just been looooong and quiet for us 0*\

Not nice to be sick on holiday  . The house 2 position in Marloth looks like a great spot to watch the river O:V We also like the S28 but in most cases it can be a 50/50 road we have seen many cats and a big tusker or two but sometimes all we see is the scenery :-) . Love that you saw a few Rhinos we did not see many on our trip last week and the ones we did see were abnormally skittish O-/
Thanks Roger, yeah the second house was a really nice location... also very pleased to see quite a lot of rhino this time \O

Wed 26th June contd

We continued up to the S79 causeway and back again on the H4-1. It was all very quiet, but we did find some impala fighting to amuse us

Image

There really wasn't much to see so we continued back to Sunset dam and parked off for a while where a yellow billed stork was fishing O:V

Image

Image

A black winged stilt came close to where we were parked ^Q^

Image

The resident hippos were generally lazing around, but a couple of youngsters were learning how to settle arguments \O

Image

Image

Some movement in the air caught my attention and I couldn't quite believe my eyes - an African Skimmer cruising around O\/ O\/ O\/

Image

Image

Image

It was quite far away so my photos don't really do the sighting justice, but it's a real rarity and a guide even came up to us to ask if we had seen it because it was so special X#X

Parking off next to a yellow billed stork....

Image

We drove along the parking area as close as we could get to the skimmer - one last shot and then it appeared to be going to sleep O:V

Image

Our route south didn't provide much to see, so the last sighting before we exited for lunch were the lions back at the Vurhami bridge who looked uncomfortably full \O
