Hey, Rog!

Two cheetah killed an Impala in front of us many years ago, near Ngotso North, when it was hot like that!

The buck and the cheetah left spoor in the tar!

Before digital age, unfortunately, maybe a photo somewhere! :o0ps:

And now onto my second Malelane gate rant ....

We were collected from camp and drove to the gate to collect the rest of the sunset drive participants at the gate . we parked off on the outside lane while waiting for them all to arrive so had front row seats to watch the goings on . again the Gate guard had his backpack on a good 20 minutes before gate closing and would not be bothered to seach any cars . Then a few delivery trucks started arriving .They stopped off in the outside lane got out strolled into the office with their passes ,returned and drove off the guard did not even bother to look into the cabs of the trucks let alone the back load compartment . It was obvious from their demeanor that his was they way it is always done and so there was routinely no security searches done . I was very disappointed . 0:   :-? :-?

So after waiting in the stifling heat for about 40 minutes the other guests finally arrived and we left on the drive ...

Our first sighting

This Kudu Doe must have heard us coming a mile away
Image

Crossing a bridge this one was enjoying some cooler shade
Image

Image

And we stopped very close to this ellie on the side of the road browsing on some patches of grass

Image

And we got back to the Cheetahs again the guide was quite excited to see them he told us he had not seen Cheetahs this low down in over 13 years . They had not moved far but still stayed in the shade .

We spent quite some time with them and then left towards Afsaal again ...
