Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park

The Golf Club has been constatntly revamped and is quite busy. I fear the umbrellas won't help much in summer...

And soon we were at our unit in Skuks...a rather unpleasant one in the middle of the city, but fine for our purposes...

I went for an evening Walk, also rather depressing. The baboons are in full swing there...
Signs of decay at the hut museum.

A rather tired display inside:
I wonder if one can still eat this elephant meat?
Near the restaurant more signs of baboon chaos!

The train...
This is the railing that was not maintained and collapsed a decade or so ago, seriously injuring a pensioner, costing SANParks millions in a legal settlement...notice the signs now...

Next day off to Marloth via Lower Sabie and Crocobridge!
Leachy doesn't stop for animals, so one has to take pics on the fly!
Some hippo in the Nwatimhiri dam, I think?
Sunset dam nice and full!
And we stopped at Dwarf's Pan south of LS just to check, also nice and full still!
I would return...

Then as we were cruising along the H4-2 we stopped behind a lone car, leachy must have sensed a disturbance in the force...
The couple had magically spotted this beaut high up in a tree!
A remarkable spotting indeed, sorry a bit far away...
And a pause at CB for leachy to do some business....butterfly!
And these polished old taps so heartwarming, the effort is a rarity in camps nowadays!
And that was it! A short but sweet trip, with a lovely braai on the night in Skuks, catching up with an old friend!

Dwarf's Pan looks very idyllic
Does it have an official name by chance?
Leopard parked a bit out of reach, but spots are always welcome, at whatever distance
Beautiful butterfly

The pan doesn't have an official name, I don't think.
There are actually a couple of pans there.
