-O What I will do there in August is enjoying the remote bush without anything and then come back to see cats and traffic jams on your TTs =O: =O: =O:

=O: =O: =O: I go to a family farm to enjoy the remote bush, but to KNP for wildlife and sightings

If things were controlled better in the south it would be better :-? :-? and decrease the gate quotas which is the bulk of the traffic :-?

:-? From a conservation point of view the day visitors would do less damage to the bush, I think 0: than the overnight visitors, so rather decrease tourist beds and perhaps cats, too -O I think the big five madness is the real driver of the problems ;-) with or without electronic toys to find them. 0:

Increasing visitor numbers is the problem more than spotting apps, IMO 0'

Are 30000 or 40000 visitors to Kruger during the peak times perhaps a little too many -O-

Hi,

A lot are asking about the ribbons, the ribbons are sold at R30, that money is then given to the Endangered Wildlife Trust. It is to show that you are part of your community. We have only sold around 1,000 so it is quite rare that you will actually find one in Kruger, as you say there are more people going in. And we sell them also to people who have only been to Kruger once, or not at all.
I have seen many, but then again, I am on a constant look out :)

Either way, you have stuck to your guns, Odie!

Well done, young man! \O

It will be an eternal debate as to the pro's and cons of social networking sightings reports, but the positive requests/warnings put out by your site are brilliant! X#X

Unfortunately there is nothing that can change that. -O-

I am not a Big 5 chaser but I do like to see the Big 5 and other cats and dogs. 0: Like BC, we go to Kruger for the animals. --00--

Nothing wrong with it, Flutty, as long as you are enjoying the company of lots of fellow big five/cat/dog lovers O:V What I am saying is only: You can not have everything: Affordable conservation fees/accommodation, comfortable tourist infrastructure, high concentration of iconic species and very few tourists O** O** O** (along with management priorities on biodiversity conservation) -O
