Yep, and apparently there was another ellie right next to the road that I didn't even see...no wonder the Brat was so nervous!

They like to show us who's boss!

Thanks nan.

There's always something that wants you to be late!

I only noticed that after your comment.

Interesting the white teeth thing....I can only think it's because predators don't live that long?

Or maybe lots of protein!

but the curious one is simply the best

Yep, at last!!

Tamboti - Skukuza
This morning we were moving to Skukuza. We had decided to take the S140 past Talamati and onto the S125. It was the wrong choice...we saw nothing until we got to the H1-3 and we heard later that the dogs were still on the H7 that morning!
Just after getting onto the H1-3 we came across this lovely lady.

She didn't hang around too long and disappeared into the bushes.

A tired waterbuck at Kumana.
On the H1-2 we saw this unusual sight - a vulture sitting in amongst some heavy foliage.
The rest of the road to Skukuza was very quiet but it was too early to check in so we headed for Lake Panic.

A flutterby!
A cautious Bushbuck.

We prefer the H1-3 instead of the S140.
Lovely sightings nonetheless

You're not allowed to just go ahead and nominate a photo that you posted in your TT, you know. Even if it is the Brat's.

That dog sighting was really someting!!!
Also, a beautiful cousin of yours

We just thought we'd try a different route but we normally use the H1-3.

Tamboti - Skukuza
When we got to Skukuza it was still too early to check in, so we went to sit at the deck to grab a bite to eat.
A starling hoping for a handout.
We were allocated unit 185 which is a BD3 and was much nicer than the BE3's we normally stay in.
I am now officially a Jeep Jockey!!
We unpacked and relaxed for a while then headed out for our afternoon drive - down the H1-1, onto the S114, across to the S65 and back to camp.
It was a very quiet drive but I did spot an Oriole trying to hide.
There was a new addition at N'waswitshaka waterhole that had not been there a few days before.
A solitary rhino somewhere along the way.
As we'd seen nothing to hold us up we stopped at Lake Panic again. On the walkway I saw a bird jumping around in the bushes and tried to get a pic but as I had to stand on my toes to see it over the netting this was the best I could do!

But it was another lifer, a Terrestrial Brownbul.
Apart from two jacanas there was nothing happening.
The Brat doing the braai for a change.
