The trip to Afsaal had been a bit disappointing and even the local Impala seemed somehow to lack much energy.

We slowly drove around the S23 loop and even there things looked a little “dead”.
We were reminded that although the Park was brimming with vibrancy and life, death was as much a certainty and this macabre sight greeted us just before exiting the S23.

Hi Trailrunner,

I have just joined you on the trip. It can be quite hectic at Lower Sabie, but even with the traffic one can get some magic sightings. Love the late afternoon shot at Sunset dam and all the wonderful scenery shots of the river and Mhlondozi dam. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ Nice shot of the little rhino as well and how wonderful to see leopards and lions. O/\ O/\ O/\

Wish one can some-time make other plans when you need the bath room. My son is the one that change the plans very quickly resulting in us missing a lion sighting one day to get to Croc bridge. We left Biyamiti early but we reached H4-2 my son wanted to go. Near Croc bridge we could see Daniel the guide at Hippo pools getting off his bicycle holding the gun ready. There was no time to protect Daniel because at that point the moaning was just too much. =O: =O: =O:

Thanks BJ \O \O \O Welcome aboard

Yes the pissers sometimes dictate the pace, I have experience of this through my trail experience. =O: =O: =O:

Please stay with us as I promise there is more to the experience than a dozy Impala and Dagga Boys skull. ;-)

We spotted the lion pride on the H4-1 in the riverbank on the way home but they were really too far to get a decent shot, but it at least gave us hope for the next day.
