and we left as we had to go to Gharagab. On the way we saw our first ever gabar goshawk who did not like to pose

At Kannaguass we saw more birds. There were vultures, bateleurs



and a tawny

[Tina]

At Geinab some bokkies were looking for shade. Maybe 200 metres further my SO hit the brakes. Far away into the riverbed he had spotted Rosa (thank you for the id Mel, AstroMatt and Wanda)



As it was 39 degrees by now the air was flirring and the pictures did not turn out very nice. Nevertheless, I was so happy to see a leopard. He also thought it was too hot and stayed in the shade for more than an hour while we were parked in the blazing sun. Then we had to leave him.

At Unions End waterhole some red hartebeest were waiting for their turn

As it was quite late already we did not go back to Unions End as we originally had planned but went straight on the road to Gharagab





our only sighting was another juvenile bateleur

We were surprised to see many tracks on the road and only got to know upon arrival that no one stayed in the camp the night before and that we were the only ones to stay here that night.

We were allocated unit three with the switch for the light at the waterhole. I really loved that. Wouldn’t it be nice to have that at Grootkolk? The rest of the afternoon we watched the birds, red hartebeest and gemsbok at the waterhole and the mice next to our unit
