And, woah, what a lion sighting. [Luv] [Luv] [Luv] Too good to be true. O\/ That first lioness looks more like a tiger. She's huuuge! But all are very handsome individuals which is not that common I find, in comparison to the Addo or KTP lions. O**
Yes Mel, she really is big - we weren't quite sure whether she already had cubs or was perhaps about to give birth. The marks on her teats look like she's already feeding, but the size of her would say there could be more to come!

A lovely bee-eater ^Q^ ^Q^

Cute buffalo calf \O
The lioness that walked past our car is definitely younger than the other two, so could well be the big lioness's daughter. Not sure about the lighter coloured one missing the end of its tail... don't think related but you never know \O

And they do not at all resemble each other.

Tuesday July 13th contd

The lions continued with their walk in the general direction of the buffalo, but they never went into any proper hunting mode. It made for a very enjoyable sighting as they crossed the road from time to time, had a check of the river and just generally went about their lion business. Not surprisingly we ended up with a lot of photos, so I’ll rather let the pics do the talking \O
