Those 2 pics of waterhole looks like just after you have come through the bends with koppies on left, it flattens out there with a few waterholes. About 3 km before T-junction with s114.

The black stuff in the ear of the hyena could be only dirt. I remember that from time to time I had to clean the ears of my cats ;-) Nice shot \O

It must be a young hyena mother taking her pup into the road 0*\
