Whoop-whoop! That lion is just beautiful and I'm sure PJL can enlighten us as to which one he is.
Great sighting of the Debenhams, I only had a very far off and therefore blurred encounter.
Generally beautiful photos!

Yep - that's Norman. He's a very impressive big chap and to have him by your car door is an experience I'm sure you won't forget quickly
Great photos again - nice to get close to the Denham's bustards. The mongoose family is very cute - they're yellow mongoose... their tails would have a white tip whereas the slender mongoose has a dark tip

What a beautiful male lion. He has just finished combing the mane

The Free State bakkie was punished for cheating
Beautiful row of elands against the horizon and the old male is great. Lots of great birds

Thanks, PJL!

And from experience, yes, he's quite impressive especially when being right next to your car.

I just love the Elands against the blue sky and the close-ups of the Denham's Bustard.
The Stick insect is a
Phalces brevis (Cape Stick Insect)
Nice lion photos, too
White-throated Canary

Thanks very much Toko. Thank you also for the two ID's.

Thank you for the lions name PJL and also for the correction of the mongoose.

That's right Lisbeth, he came to us to return Joans hair dryer.
We did rather smile to ourselves when the lion passed behind the bakkie.

28 APRIL 2015 - DAY 13 - ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK - PART 3/4
Another unidentified bird.
And another one.
Our one and only black rhino but very far off. Had to crop the photo quite drastically.
I think these are Cape Weavers.
I tried to capture the pure magic colours of the batches of wild flowers growing on the side of the road.
A tender moment between mother and child after having had a mud bath.
Another rather cleaner looking elephant.
Final part for day 13 to follow.

28 APRIL 2015 - DAY 13 - ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK - PART 4/4
This Kudu looked up at us as if to say " Why are you disturbing my meal?"
Red-necked Spurfowl.
Buffalo, Zebra and Kudu. This is how Africa should look.
Another tender moment between mother and child.
Is that some writing in the sky?????? Spot the elephants.
For our final evening we followed the suggestion by PJL and went and sat at Ghwarrie Dam to watch the sunset. We were not disappointed.
END OF DAY 13.

Beautiful elephants
For the birds, I'd say: unidentified (does not have a canary-like thick bill)

- Ant-eating Chat

- Spectacled Weaver
Cropped Blackie is cool!
Wonderful golden skies
