The afternoon drive took us around the lion who was a road block by now

and north to look for the meerkats, Wanda had told us about. We actually found them far away in the riverbed but we only saw them as we knew where to look.

We then proceded to Lijersdraai. There were some very sleepy hyenas.

At 6:15 the resident brown hyena made an appearance

We had breakfast, packed and left camp at about 9 am. When we arrived at Lijersdraai at about 10 am the hyenas were still there

but they had company. As there was another car positioned at the hyenas, we had a look at the lions first.

While I was taking pictures, my SO suddenly said „ now it is your turn“ and pointed towards the other car. I looked and saw that the passengers were waiving at me. They turned out to be Kesheshe and Penny. We had a nice chat in a very nice surrounding – lions to the left and hyenas straight ahead. When they had left, we realised that we needed a comfort stop and went to the picnic site where we met this little guy

We returned to the waterhole where the lions and hyenas were still at the same spot

and we scared away two warthogs
