Pics and Explanations

This was the first animal seen of the drive - a martial eagle feasting on its kill.

A cute baby baboon showing off for us! ^0^

Having a good yawn! ^0^

Image

I only took pics until it darkened......the first pic was of this leopard hunting impala just a mere 3 meters away! He edged closer and closer and just as the tension built up - Disaster struck.....all the impala fled and the hunt was over, just like that! 0=
We hung around him for a while until he got up and walked away.

Image

Only after this did our guide tell us that this was the resident leopard on the Maroela loop which my grandpa went searching for while we were on the Sunset drive. ^0^ =O:

A hyena on the Maroela loop

Then coming up to the sand river, I spotted a civet drinking from the river! O/\ O:V O\/ He walked around for a bit and the walked back into the darkness.

Image

On the same road (actually a bridge) we found a genet hiding away in the bushes! O\/ O/\ Unfortunately he was too hidden to take a pic of. O/

We continued on seeing another hyena and then all to soon got back to camp but the night animals were not over just yet! 0()

My grandpa asked me to take something to the recycle bin in front of our hut. As I walked towards the bin I heard something move above and me. Luckily enough I had my torch and shone it above me immediately only to find a bushbaby staring down at me! I ran and grabbed my camera, stirring up excitement all around us! O\/ O/\

Image

This was the best pic I could get as he was constantly moving about. ;-)

All in all a good day!! ;-) ^0^ O\/ O/\
