Quite interested to know this too .I had some similar homes on my home eves a while back
Could it possibly be the bagworm moths, also simply bagworms or bagmoths :

Spot on

great sighting
This is possibly the larva of
Eumeta hardenbergi, the largest bagworm species in South Africa. Length of larva: 22-25 mm; Length of bag: ♂ 25-35 mm, ♀ 30-55 mm.
Larvae feed on indigenous thorntrees (but also like fruit trees and other food plants)

Is a female - so poses some problems - However, it is probably a species of
Daspletis or possibly even
Anasillomos. I can't be certain without an actual specimen to key out. Sorry I can't be more help.
