Back at Croc I found some interesting bugs.
Some Bees.

I think these are males of Spatunomia rubra
a red metasoma and without bands of tomentum on the terga. The most remarkable
features of the genus are the simple mandibles in the female and the pedunculate
last antennal segment in the male.
BluTuna, can you please have a look at ABC Taxa Bee Genera of Southern Africa doc, page 43, 13C

Looks good to me \O

I found this beautiful spider in the entrance to the ablution block. I think it's a Trapdoor Spider of some kind.

It was a bit skittish and was jumping and assuming this aggressive posture every time I moved.

It even jumped and landed upside-down.

After weeks of research, here we go O/\ O/\ O/\ O/\

Okay, I entered what SCANT info. I had on the last 3 lacewings in the book. Tried to edit the Index, but it seems the entries have a "#p..... after the 10 or 20 (depending on the particular page) that I don't know where to find it. -O-

Can add them and remove from ID page whenever you have a sec. THANKS!!!! 0/0

Cool spider!!!! ^Q^

FYI - I edited the lacewing "Poss. Myrmeleon sp." to Creoleon mortifer per ADU ID, as well as the Index entry.

I am not sure if I am on the right thread for my question. Mods please move in need.

Can anyone out there tell me which insect builds a nest like this out of the thorns from a Yellow Fever tree?

Photos taken from three different sides.
