The rock pools with gobey and sand snail...can't remember the name, are a lot like Natal South Coast where I spent a lot of time!

Fantastic to get back to Addo through your eyes and lens! A really beautiful park and by the end of next week the latest,
I'll know if we will go back next year. Really beautiful there and your scenery photos are grand! Lots of familiar faces animal-wise too.

Thanks Mel. My wife and I have fallen in love with Addo. It is an amazing park with fabulous landscapes and vivid colours. Tried to capture some of the wild flower clusters but no way could replicate the colours. We really hope you can get to go there next year.

Aaaah Lisbeth you are so right. A wonderful park with such gentle giants although we still tended to show our Kruger elephant nervousness.

Hi R.P. Thanks very much for your positive feedback. Gobey, is that what that little fish in the rock pool was. We used to call them Rock Ballies when I was a kid.

27 APRIL 2015 - DAY 12 - ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK - PART 1/2


Our first sighting this morning was this orderly line up of Eland on the horizon.



Another horizon Eland.



An Eland with two Denenhams Bustards.



A huge old bull bringing up the rear.



A beautiful Bokmakierie greeting the morning with a song. Note his tongue adding to the tune.



A Black Backed Jackal snuffling around in the grass.



I thought this was the Common Fiscal but his tail is shorter. Can anyone help with a positive ID please?



A Cape Bulbul in a Spekboom bush.

One of Addos gentle giants. Too beautiful.



This fellow posed so nicely for us but we have no idea what it is. Please help with an ID.

This green stick insect gave Joan a bit of fright at Spekboom Hide.
