Thank you all, once again.
Now that I'm back at work, I once again wind down the week by spending Friday afternoon at the river. The late afternoon light is amazing, specially if you have got three Elephant bulls to photograph. I was watching from my stoep for any animal life. On the opposite side of the river, in the distance, is saw a few Elephant moving towards the river. I was only planning on going down later, but with these guys approaching my plans changed. I went down to the river and about 10 minutes later they appeared on the other side.
My attention was focused on one bull in particular. He is often seen here on Grietjie and I have named him "Spike". Here is Spike on the opposite bank, enjoying the available food...

After eating, it was time for a drink, but getting to the water was a bit tricky...

After enjoying a drink, Spike lead the other two across the river to Grietjie, much to my delight...

They came very close to me and allowing me to get a close-up shot of Spike...

Spike
He looks like a younger bull and you may see him for another two decades
Is the land on the other bank of the river also a nature reserve?

Yes Klippies it is. It's all part of Balule and the area opposite the river is Olifants South. All part of the Greater Kruger and no fences from here all the way through Kruger to Moz.
