If I'd had some red wine I might have joined in! I think we're spoilt, eating the "real mccoy" most nights - after 28 years in an Italian family I cook just like mamma!
I'm sure for the locals the food is cheap, but at about $15 for a plate of pasta it's pretty pricey for us!

Must say, they had some beautiful decorations so I had to buy one to hang on our tree. I asked one of the shop girls if she didn't go mad listening to Christmas Carols all year, but she just shrugged...I suspect her brain has been fried for a while!!

The next morning we caught a train (under the river again) to Hoboken. Even though it's just a short distance from New York we were now in a different state - New Jersey. The reason for this trip across the river was to visit Carlo's Bakery. This is the bakery run by Buddy Valastro and his family, and featured in the TV show, Cake Boss.



None of the family were there, but it was still great to see all those cakes and pastries!





We bought a variety of goodies and snacked on them the whole day! We had to try their famous cannoli and my mother-in-law was very happy to hear that they weren't as good as hers.



After stuffing ourselves, we headed back across the river to Madame Tussaud's in Times Square - a mere $40 entrance per person!!

My first celebrity in New York - Morgan Freeman!



The Brat discussed some film techniques with Steven Spielberg....



.... played a few tunes with Jerry Lee Lewis...



.... and caught up on the latest celeb gossip with Beyonce....



.... while I held a press conference at the White House - I hope you all saw it!



I have to say I expected a lot more for $80 and thought it was a total rip-off. A lot of the wax figures were on loan to other museums or being fixed, and it can't compare to the one in London!
