Hi everyone

I have been really busy these past few months. I will be posting some more photos soon about game capturing that we did. I am just waiting to get some more photos.

Here are a few photos of our game capturing experience. We did two kinds of capturing namely chemical capture and mass capture. Chemical capture was done with a helicopter where they darted the animals and we had to go after them to bring them to the trucks again. Mass capture is where we set up a boma and chase a large amount of animals into the boma with the helicopter and as soon as they pass us we close the nets behind them until they are in the trucks.

The first photo is a truck that got stuck in the mud and we had to help get it out with one of the tractors on the farm


Here we were carrying the camouflage and things we needed to set up the boma for the mass capturing that we did with the zebras and blesbok


These are a few trucks that came to pick up the animals

This is the first guy we had to go and get to take back to the trucks. He was quite a fighter because it took a long while before he decided to go lay down


This was our first kudu. He gave us a bit of a run around because he jumped some of our fences and we had to chase after him

what a work... nice work... not easy one
right a Kudu can jump very high

This is one of the impala that we caught. We had to hurry up with them because they woke up very quickly

This is just a few pictures on what we do when we don't capture game...

We found this sign when we were cleaning out one of the camps where we put extra poles etc. and we prepared a little "braai" area for us when we take a few minutes break


I took some of our new first year students out on foot to see our natural area in more detail and this is some things we found on our way:

This little guy was busy shedding its skin and he was also very angry. He made a loud hissing noise

I saw these guys in the Wildlife Centre before I did a tour:

This is Alex (warthog) and Timone (banded mongoose). They were busy playing with each other which was very cute
