After a quick stop in Nossob, we were out the north gate and off to Cubitjie Quap
About a kilometer before Cubitjie Quap we saw a car looking to the left
As we approached, we saw what they were looking at
Three beautiful male cheetahs

The trio approached the road and quickly moved over to the river and off into the distance
All about timing

Lovely cheetah sighting
Two extra cats to use for catless days

The waterhole at Cubitjie Quap was a hive of activity
A small herd of kudu were first up
Sometimes a bit skittish

And they were soon joined by a couple of gemsbok, hiding behind the sandgrouses
Just look at this female’s long horns

After Cubitjie Quap, we drove back to camp
Where, I arranged to get some of my dirty t shirt washed and ironed. The Nossob cleaning ladies are only too willing to oblige, and for a small donation, they do a really great job
While I was doing the domestic thing, Debbie was owl hunting
In camp she spotted this Southern White Faced Owl
These swallows were trying to avoid the heat
We were as well, as at 44 degrees, sleep in a tent wasn’t going to happen, so the swimming pool called. A couple of times

We decided to go for an evening drive to Maries and back
This spoor in the road certainly got our expectations up, but nothing was seen
It was all pretty quiet.
The dunes in the evening light were however awesome
After an evening drink we returned to head back to camp
Things brightened up a bit with this sighting of some amazing male kudu in the riverbed

The road back home, with overcast conditions
And a sunset over the riverbed before Nossob
Back in camp, Debbie went Owl hunting again and came up with some photos of this spotted eagle owl.
My notes say: “ had a lovely evening braai in camp, with mosquitoes” Not too sure about that

We are in Nossob, so our bakkie automatically heads south to Maries first thing in the morning
Just before the turn off to Maries, these jackals were cleaning up some left over’s, left by something a while ago.
And a bit further on a gemsbok was proudly displaying it’s broken head gear
The road to Marie’s was quiet
On the way back to Nossob, after a very quiet drive south, I had always wanted a picture of the Sheppard of Nossob, and now was my chance
