Yes that would be right... the two female were the ones we had come out onto the road by us, and the male came down and joined them - he was in that video.

Sat 22nd June contd

The Vurhami pride had been really great to see in action, but as they were settling down again we headed back towards the S25 and took a detour down to the hippo pools. The hippo were mostly below the water but a couple of crocs and a goliath heron were nice to see O:V

We also found a unicorn and an elephant who seemed to give us a wave with his trunk 0/*

We realised at this point that there was no way we would make it all the way over to the Malelane side after all the time spent with the lions, so we went to plan B and aimed to loop back round via the H5 to the H4-2 and back to Crocodile Bridge for lunch and ice creams. The drive didn't produce much as it was getting to the heat of the day, but we found an oxpecker and some butterflies by one of the riverbeds O:V

Back on the H4-2 we found a big herd of elephant heading up the road towards us. We were keen to reverse and give them room to get off the road but an OSV blocked us in :X:
Without any reversing option, we just turned the engine off and hoped there wouldn't be any aggression as they wandered past. Thankfully they were all in a good mood and it was nice to see them so close with little ones ^Q^

Further south I took a mandatory pic of a lilac breasted roller, but then it shouted at me --00-- lol

Back at Gezantombi the lions were busy eating as they had caught a warthog who had somehow wandered right into them 0*\

Image

We decided it was time for our lunch as well, so we continued on to Crocodile Bridge which has a nice area for a picnic. It probably doesn't get used too much as most people would be well into the park by lunchtime.

Image

We had a good break and wander around the camp where there were plenty of bats under the thatched lapas O/\

Yes, I've never seen that Croc teagarden incredibly overcrowded, and there are all sorts of shady places that one can relax at anyway! :-0 :-0 :-0

Nice to take a quiet drive so that one can come down to earth again and appreciate your rare sightings, Peej!
