We got to Nossob and were allocated site no 5 of the premium camp sites. Next to the fence O\/ O\/

I went to buy some ice at the shop and found the cost in Nossob to be R32.90 per bag as opposed to R25.90 in Mata Mata
Hello 0= :-? :-?

We got our life sorted and went for a very quiet drive around Maries se Draai

This was the sunset on the way home

Great sightings again, Gavin, plus your cat for the day! X#X

Love the animals so dozy in some pics! lol <zz>

Never new there were monitor lizards there in the desert!

And I also love the exotic names of the various spots. ..0..

Thursday 2 November 2023

Our first morning of three at Nossob and we were greeted with this as a sunrise

P1840893.JPG

Not too shabby, if I say myself

Historically we have always gone south around Maries se Draai first thing in the morning. We know it is all wrong for photography, but we are here for the sightings, and most times, Maries delivers
So off we went at gate opening time

This Black Breasted Snake Eagle soaking up the morning sun was first up.

And then just before Maries se Gat, Maries delivered once again

A spotted hyena was walking across the riverbed heading to the waterhole

It was obviously thirsty, because it wasted no time in getting a drink

But at the same time, it was on a mission and soon after drinking; it crossed over the road and disappeared over the dunes behind the waterhole

I was about to make a joke about your getting up at 4:30 and only leaving at 7:30, but then I understood that it was moving day, which explains the time lapse lol

Nice sighting of the spotted hyena and the battie ^Q^ ^Q^
