We turned into the private road leading to Biyamiti and as always enjoyed each meter on that road and took it even slower than we normally drive and indeed a bit more general game could be spotted as well although this narrow road is always overgrown at that time of the year and consequently not easy to spot anything. Today we noticed a group of kudus

Image

and more kudus between a couple of boulders

Image

and at one of the more open areas we came across another group of warthogs

Image

who must have still found a mud puddle along that road

Image

as even the tusks needed a bit mud.

Image

Because giraffes are that tall they could be spotted easily along that road

Image

and we for sure fired again away

Image

the elephant herd we then discovered was indeed not easy to locate but that cute little youngster peeped out of a bush.

Image

It was indeed a more than nice drive on that private road as due to the thickness it was a bit shady and also a couple of smaller ponds filled with waterlilies could be admired as well

Image

as well as another nicely posing snake eagle

at the view point we left the car and walked a bit around whilst looking here and there and in the distance in the river bed in a couple of really small puddles we discovered a saddle billed stork.

Image

Back in camp I filled again the bird bath as most of the water must have either been vaporized or even drank and we sat again on our verandah with a cold one and waited for anything to come and also today we had not been disappointed as many grey louries were around and also very noisy,

Image

butterflies flew around and red collared barbets as well as a glossy starling raided the bird bath

Image

Image

and even more red collared barbets came to visit same.

Image

Image

The grey lourie obviously did not want to get wet and same preferred to take a bath in the sand close to the bird bath.

to be continued………….
