At lunchtime today I tested the new rig with my old 150-600 (@600mm) handheld into the deep shadow of a part of my garden that I grow especially to attract Robins and Orioles etc . I completely underexposed it in Manual mode using the base native ISO of 64, unique to this camera ..They all start at 100 and up ..The result was a very dark scene in the original photo but in photoshop I increased the highlight detail and shadow detail by moving those 2 sliders hard to the right and instead of creating black areas with loads of noise ..the beautiful detail of the bricks came out not to mention those of the rock pigeon and @ 64
ISO = no noise..I am really pleased with the high resolution of this newly designed backlit sensor and full frame and the ability to shoot natively at 64 ISO ..If only I had it for those Rooiputs lions in April. Again please click on pic to get the true story of colour and detail in the dark shadow of the scene taken
