Changing lifestyles from computers to Cheetahs

Yep. I have no regrets.

Now back to work.
Have to get the volunteers to the airshow.

Now you have met one furry friend of mine already.

Apart from having to take care of that one we have got 7 more on the premises.
Later I will tell you about them.
Each have their own character and peculiarities.

Apart from being a breeding center we also have a few permanent guests here.

We have 2 Servals. Tigger and Bells.

Tigger and Bells were brought to the center when their respective owners did not want them anymore and decided to get rid of them.

Funny how stupid people can be to keep these kinds of animals as pets and when they do not want to have them they just discard them.

Due to this fact they cannot be set out in the wild anymore and will have to stay in a cage indefinitely.

Same stories goes for Pablo.

Pablo is a most handsome Caracal and he is just and awesome "hisser".



That is the bad news about these 3.

The good news is that we are going to make great big enclosures so they can get out of their cages and into nice big enclosures where they can run, skip and jump whenever they want to and also be able to hunt the occasional bird that flies past or the doomed rat that tries to take a shortcut through their enclosures.

For the Cheetahs we are building two large enclosures that are going to be kept "wild".
In these enclosures we are going to teach the Cheetahs to hunt so they can be put out in the wild again and, mabe, be able to establish new groups so their numbers can grow again.

Also have we got 2 female Ostriches on the center and while walking from the house to the cages I discovered Caracal tracks crossing the road.

On the rocks there are Dassies to be seen and every evening I hear the cries of the Fish Eagles down the river.

Boy.

What a life!

If mMa Ramotswe did not see the advert for this job on Facebook I would never have been able to enjoy all of this beauty I am enjoying right now.

Nice looking cats, shame they cannot be returned to the wild, but I'm sure they will enjoy more freedom in their new enclosures.
