I am open to correction, but that is not a puffie....... I suspect a night adder...... either way, DO NOT TOUCH.... Puffy can be deadly, night adder, not so much, but will still require treatment

Grumpy, that is why I said "Puff Adder I think". I am still not sure myself and I don't intend getting any closer. O**

BTW, it did 'puff' a few times, noy sure if a Night Adder does that as well? -O-

Hi Grumpy & Sprocky,

Google Rhombic Night Adder, there are several photos that match with the one in your pic. \O

They do puff up when cornered and their venom is of relatively low toxicity, with no human deaths recorded to date from their bite, but will cause discomfort, swelling, pain and slight necrosis in some instances. If bitten, always seek medical help.

Anyone know what this is?

We saw it at the Rhino and Lion park so couldn't tell you where it is normally found.
