He wasn't euthanised, he was shot! If they could shoot him, couldn't they have used anaesthesia? Maybe it cannot be done from far away -O-

KRUGER LIONS! 🇿🇦
ESCAPED INTO MAKOKO!
Four Lions have been shot dead and given to the community...
Makoko on the border of Kruger National Park...
On Thursday morning last week sources said two Lions were thought to have been shot in a covert operation in Makoko area which is on the border of Kruger National Park and would have been dealt with by MTPA.
Lion tracks were confirmed out of Kruger Park via Mdluli Safari Lodge area on the 12th June.
Mdluli is located inside the Kruger National Park and is situated in the southwestern region of the park, between Numbi Gate and Pretoriuskop Rest Camp.
Makoko is a rural community on the boundary of Kruger National Park and Mdluli.
Makoko communities near the railway tracks complained of Lions in the area and the issue escalated last week.
Earlier one Lion was said to have been darted and put back in Kruger, but no one knows where!
A few days later fresh lion tracks in the same areas showed the Lions were back through the fences.
THEN...
Informers within Kruger said that over the weekend of 21st June a helicopter was seen flying low over these areas, possibly looking for the Lions...
According to various informers a member of an Anti-Poaching Unit working in the area of Sabi was called in to assist, he is also a Hunter, though we don't know the status of his hunting license.
We do however know his name.
On early Thursday morning the 26th June (five days later) information circulated that two Lions had been shot!
The story later changed that the Lions had been darted, a blanket of silence followed and people were scared to ask questions.
A helicopter flew again in the area on the 26th June.
We emailed Sanparks on Friday and speedily received a follow-up and this reply a few minutes ago from Sanparks.
"The issue of animals outside of the KNP is handled by MTPA. Kruger National Park is only involved upon request from the entity. You mention Mdluli and Sabi Sands, they should be able to provide you with answers"
According to this new information, besides the four lions, there might be even more lions roaming in the area.
We are letting this story out now in the hope that more lions will not be shot...
